Control and Governance enforcement
Ephiria is a governance enforcement platform for regulated enterprises. It sits in the execution path of AI tools, agents, and automated workflows — evaluating each action against policy before it completes, then producing a tamper-evident record of the decision and its reasoning. It serves regulated industries including legal.

Overview
Ephiria operates across three surfaces: human-AI interactions (governing prompts and responses), AI agents (enforcing declared mandates and authority ceilings at runtime), and enterprise automations (checking authority, policy, and budget at commitment points in CLM, ERP, and case management). Its Interaction process is the mandatory boundary every action passes through. Rather than a binary permit/block gate, Ephiria offers four dispositions: permit, condition, hold, or block. All decisions are hash-chained into an append-only evidence record. It also provides PII redaction in-path, AI spend tracking by matter and model, delegation-based escalation routing, and a Decision Intelligence layer that verifies citations and scores confidence.
What it does
Ephiria is a governance enforcement infrastructure for regulated enterprises. It sits in the execution path of your AI, your agents and your automated processes. Your policy decides what is permitted. Ephiria permits, conditions, escalates or blocks each action before it completes, and writes a tamper-evident record of what happened and why.
Ephiria's AI gateway tracks every AI action before it executes, evaluates it against the organisation's own policies, and conditions it where needed rather than simply blocking. Law firms and in-house teams can govern all AI use through a single interface with automatic routing, or run the gateway inside the applications people already work in.
Resolves actor, intent, context, and consequence before any decision.
Tracks AI spend by matter, model, and task against authority and budget.
Hash-chained, append-only record of every governed action and disposition.
Learns from past decisions to sharpen future enforcement.
Classify, remove or mask protected content, then restore it for the authorised user inside the controlled environment.
Client, organisational, matter, data, jurisdiction and authority controls applied before execution.

FAQs
Regulated enterprises often have AI policies on paper but cannot demonstrate that those policies were applied before a specific action executed and under whose authority. Ephiria closes that gap by sitting in the execution path, deciding, and recording the decision at the moment of action — before regulators, auditors, or opposing counsel ask for the evidence.
A standard gate offers two outcomes: permit or block. Ephiria adds two further dispositions — condition (modify the action so it complies and proceed) and hold (route to the appropriate authority pending sign-off). This avoids forcing a binary choice between blocking legitimate work and letting exposure through.
The EU AI Act sets fines of up to €15 million or 3% of worldwide turnover for breaching high-risk requirements, and a separate €7.5 million or 1% for providing authorities with incorrect or incomplete information. Ephiria's tamper-evident evidence chain provides the audit record needed to demonstrate pre-execution compliance.
Each agent is declared with a defined operating envelope covering purpose, authority ceiling, territory, budget limits, and human sign-off thresholds. At runtime, every tool call is checked against that envelope. An agent may be technically capable of an action and still be blocked or held if it falls outside its declared mandate at that moment.
