The American Arbitration Association (AAA) and Integra Ledger have partnered to launch a blockchain-based document authentication service to counter AI forgery risks.
As AI tools make document forgery easier and harder to detect, legal and commercial institutions face a concrete problem: they cannot reliably verify whether a contract or critical record is genuine. This service directly addresses that gap by creating permanent, tamper-proof digital proofs of documents without storing their contents.
The Partnership
The AAA, which has administered more than eight million dispute resolution cases since its founding in 1926, announced the partnership on September 25, 2025. The service is live now through a secure online platform at adr.trustwithintegra.com.
Bridget McCormack, president and CEO of the AAA, framed the stakes clearly: "As AI becomes more advanced, it's essential to preserve trust in the documents that support our legal and commercial systems. By expanding access to this technology, we're democratizing the tools needed to preserve the integrity of critical information in the age of AI."
How It Works
Users upload documents to generate time- and date-stamped digital proofs recorded on a blockchain, a distributed digital ledger that makes records permanent and independently verifiable. The platform supports single and bulk document registration, and no document content is stored on the system.
Documents can be registered at any point during a contract's lifecycle. Since the proof exists independently of any software, contracts can be shared or transferred without affecting the underlying blockchain record.
Pricing and Access
The service launches with a free tier that allows individuals and organizations to register and authenticate up to 100 documents at no charge. Beyond that, it scales to paid subscription plans, including enterprise options that integrate directly with existing software to handle millions of documents.
David Fisher, CEO of Integra Ledger, described the broader goal: "Trust in documents is the bedrock of modern society, yet AI's ability to manipulate or generate convincing forgeries threatens that foundation. Working with the AAA, we're pleased to make this service available to all who can benefit from it."
Scope and Reach
The service targets individuals, businesses, and legal institutions globally. Its positioning within the AAA's dispute resolution ecosystem means it is particularly relevant for parties who anticipate contract disputes or operate in high-stakes commercial environments. The AAA maintains offices across the United States and in Singapore, giving the partnership an international operational footprint from the outset.
The free access threshold of 100 documents is designed to lower the barrier to entry for smaller users, while the enterprise tier addresses institutional-scale needs without requiring migration to new software.
