Alice Secures €1M for Litigation AI Platform

Belgian legal tech startup Alice has raised €1 million in pre-seed funding to expand its AI-driven litigation platform across Europe.

Alice, a Belgian legal tech startup founded in 2025, has secured €1 million in pre-seed funding led by NewSchool and Seeder Fund, with participation from Belgian angel investors. The company, launched in June 2025 by practicing lawyers Jeroen Villé and Armin Wintein alongside CTO Joren Coulier, will use the investment to enhance its platform, expand its team, and enter the Netherlands and France markets. The platform currently serves over 60 law firms in Belgium.

Courts across multiple jurisdictions have encountered legal submissions containing fabricated references linked to unverified AI tool outputs. In Belgium, judges have reopened proceedings and applied procedural measures in response to such incidents. Alice addresses these accuracy concerns by integrating verification and traceability into its workflow, maintaining human oversight throughout the legal process.

Platform Features

Alice offers three core capabilities within a continuous workflow structure. The Draft function creates litigation documents using modular blocks covering facts, arguments, positions, and citations. Users can refine each draft through a Word add-in.

The Argue feature transforms case facts and research into structured arguments and rebuttals. The platform is designed to ensure consistency and reduce omissions in legal reasoning.

The Analyze tool automatically detects facts, issues, and connections across documents. Lawyers can query files directly using natural language through the Ask Alice feature. The platform includes safeguards against AI hallucinations in final work products.

Workflow Design

Alice operates as an integrated system where each stage feeds directly into the next. The platform guides lawyers from document analysis through legal research, argument development, and preparation of client communications and court-ready materials.

Alice operates in the litigation AI sector alongside multiple legal tech companies working in similar areas. The platform is available in English and has been described as affordable in reviews on the company website.

The startup gained over 60 law firm clients in Belgium within approximately seven months of launching. The platform maintains compliance with courtroom standards and professional accountability requirements.

Investment Details

NewSchool and Seeder Fund led the €1 million pre-seed round. A group of experienced Belgian angel investors also participated in the funding.
