Ascentium acquires Clara, the largest licensed corporate service provider in ADGM, expanding its Middle East footprint.
Singapore-headquartered Ascentium acquired Clara on February 12, 2026, marking its entry into the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and strengthening its presence in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The acquisition adds a regulated, technology-enabled corporate services provider to Ascentium's global platform, which already spans 45 cities across 23 markets.
This deal matters because ADGM and DIFC are the UAE's two premier common-law financial centres. For businesses operating across borders, having a single regulated partner that covers both jurisdictions reduces complexity and compliance risk.
The Acquisition
Ascentium announced the acquisition of Clara on February 12, 2026. Clara is the largest licensed corporate service provider (CSP) in ADGM — a financial free zone established under Abu Dhabi law. CSPs help businesses incorporate, manage governance, and maintain ongoing regulatory compliance within these jurisdictions.
Clara currently manages approximately 2,000 ADGM and DIFC companies. Its client base spans startups, SMEs, law firms, venture capitalists, investors, accelerators, and government-related entities.
Clara's Platform
Clara operates a proprietary digital platform that allows clients and their advisors to incorporate and manage ADGM and DIFC entities online. The platform covers incorporation, governance, and compliance functions in one system.
This technology infrastructure was a key factor in the acquisition. Ascentium noted Clara's "leading technological operating system" as a core asset alongside its regulatory standing and client relationships.
Strategic Rationale
Ascentium's acquisition strategy focuses on regulated, values-aligned businesses with established client bases in key jurisdictions. Clara fits this profile as the market leader in ADGM with an existing presence in DIFC.
Lennard Yong, Group CEO of Ascentium, said: "ADGM is an important addition to Ascentium's global platform, and Clara is the market leader. Their regulatory standing, trusted client relationships, and leading technological operating system make them an ideal addition to Ascentium as we continue to expand across the Middle East."
By joining Ascentium, Clara gains access to a global network of over 2,500 professionals and expanded service capabilities across corporate services, finance and accounting, fund administration, human resources, and fiduciary and trust services.
Kathryn Burke, Managing Director of Clara, said: "Ascentium has built a platform where people lead and technology enables. By joining Ascentium and aligning with this shared value, we can combine human insight with the power of innovation to help clients navigate increasingly complex, cross-border regulatory environments with confidence, while giving Clara the scale and reach to take our expertise to the next level."
Recent Expansion
This acquisition is part of a broader push by Ascentium. In December 2025, the company acquired Marbury to expand its fund administration capabilities and announced a strategic partnership with Standard Chartered to simplify cross-border growth for clients.
Ascentium now serves more than 60,000 client entities globally. The Clara deal adds two regulated UAE financial centre jurisdictions to a platform that previously had no licensed presence in ADGM.
