Billables AI, a San Francisco-based legal tech company, has raised $10.2 million in a Series A funding round to expand its AI-powered platform for law firms.
The raise signals growing investor confidence in operational intelligence tools built specifically for the legal sector, where data on attorney workflows has historically gone uncaptured.
The Funding Round
Avenue Growth Partners led the round, with participation from Wing VC, SignalFire, and Alumni Ventures. The new capital will go toward research and development, go-to-market expansion, and legal technology partnerships.
This Series A follows a $3.9 million seed round in 2024, also led by Wing VC. Since then, Billables AI has grown to serve hundreds of law firms, with a focus on midmarket practices.
What the Platform Does
Billables AI integrates with tools attorneys already use, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Adobe, along with law firm practice management platforms. It connects via secure APIs to capture data on how legal work gets done.
The platform covers time capture, billing optimization, productivity insights, revenue forecasting, and AI application tracking for risk and governance purposes. Unlike some competitors, it does not use screenshot or screen-monitoring technology. Instead, it is built entirely on an API-integration model, which the company says better protects client confidentiality.
Billables AI recently added integrations with Centerbase and Litify. Its existing integration partners include SurePoint, 8am/MyCase, Clio, and LeanLaw.
What Investors Are Saying
Brian Goldsmith, cofounder and partner at Avenue Growth Partners, pointed to the platform's scope as a key reason for backing the company.
"The company has already established itself as a leader in AI-powered timekeeping, but its broader opportunity extends far beyond billing. Billables AI is building an important system of insight for law firms as they adapt to new business pressures, evolving client expectations and the growing role of AI in legal services," Goldsmith said.
The Road Ahead
Arvind Sujeeth, cofounder and CEO of Billables AI, says the focus is on turning unanalyzed operational data into real-time decisions for law firms.
"Law firms are sitting on a wealth of operational data that has historically gone uncaptured and unanalyzed. With this funding, we are accelerating our mission to surface that data, give firms real-time intelligence about how their people and technology are performing and help them make faster, smarter decisions on everything from pricing to staffing to AI governance," Sujeeth said.
The funding arrives as law firms across the market work to adopt AI tools while managing compliance, client confidentiality, and competitive pressure. Billables AI tracks both attorney activity and AI tool usage, giving firms a single view of how each contributes to or creates risk in client engagements.
In 2026, Billables AI was named Legal Tech Company of the Year at the Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards. The award recognizes legal technology providers that have made a significant contribution to the delivery of legal services and demonstrated meaningful innovation in improving legal workflows and processes.
