Burges Salmon Expands Its AI Partnership With Wexler

Burges Salmon has extended its firm-wide deal with Wexler, an AI fact intelligence platform, to support document-heavy legal work across all practice areas.

The expansion marks a shift in how UK law firms are adopting AI tools built for specific legal tasks. Rather than general-purpose AI, firms are turning to platforms designed to handle the factual complexity of litigation and disputes.

Partnership Growth

Burges Salmon first adopted Wexler in 2024, starting with its Dispute Resolution team. After a successful integration, the firm rolled out the platform across all its practice areas.

The platform now supports fact extraction, chronology production, and early case assessment. These are tasks that previously required significant manual review time from lawyers.

What Wexler Does

Wexler is an AI-native platform built to process large volumes of unstructured documents. It extracts sourced and cited facts from document sets, helping legal teams identify where evidence may conflict.

The platform can process up to 250,000 documents per upload. It automates intelligence gathering in complex disputes, allowing lawyers to spend more time on strategy and case analysis.

Wexler also helps lawyers find vulnerabilities in discovery and draft documents to build case strategy. Its focus is on reducing manual review while ensuring critical information is not missed.

Its investors include Pear VC, Seedcamp, The LegalTech Fund, and Myriad Venture Partners. The company says it is adding new customers every week.

The Burges Salmon extension also aligns with the firm's Digital Enablement Programme (DEP), a multi-year initiative to modernise how it delivers legal services. The DEP reflects the firm's broader strategy of deploying purpose-built AI for complex legal work.
