Casepoint Names Paul Colangelo New CEO

Casepoint appoints Paul Colangelo as CEO to lead its AI-powered legal and compliance platform for government and enterprises.

Casepoint, an AI-powered legal and compliance platform based in Washington, appointed Paul Colangelo as Chief Executive Officer on June 8, 2026. Colangelo brings over 25 years of experience leading government and enterprise software companies. The appointment positions Casepoint to expand its platform across federal agencies and regulated industries amid growing demand for unified data discovery tools.

This leadership change matters because government agencies and enterprises are under increasing pressure to manage larger data volumes, stricter regulations, and faster response timelines. Casepoint serves this market with a platform that consolidates legal hold, eDiscovery, investigations, FOIA, and compliance response into one system.

Colangelo's Background

Colangelo most recently founded and led Neumo, a government software company. At Neumo, he built applications for justice agencies, compliance offices, DMVs, and public administration bodies. His work focused on modernizing government workflows and improving how agencies interact with citizens.

Before Neumo, Colangelo spent his career scaling technology companies in data analytics, identity software, and compliance. This experience spans both the public sector and regulated private industries.

The Market Problem

Government agencies and enterprises currently rely on fragmented systems that create inefficient handoffs and increase operational risk. Separate tools for eDiscovery, compliance, investigations, and regulatory response force teams to move data across platforms, which slows response times and introduces errors.

Colangelo addressed this directly. "What I hear from government agencies and regulated enterprises is frustration with fragmented systems, inefficient handoffs, and unnecessary risk," he said. "The market is moving toward unified solutions and Casepoint is well positioned for that shift, with security, defensibility, and workflow integration built into the foundation of our platform."

Colangelo's Priorities

As CEO, Colangelo will focus on four areas: accelerating Casepoint's AI development roadmap, expanding the company's reach across government and enterprise markets, improving customer engagement, and simplifying legal and regulatory response processes.

He also plans to invest in agentic AI workflows. These are AI systems that can automate repetitive tasks while keeping human oversight intact, which is critical for legal, regulatory, and investigative decisions that carry high stakes.

"Organizations need AI that operates within secure, governed workflows and enhances human judgment," Colangelo said. "Our goal is to help customers adopt AI confidently in mission-critical environments while maintaining the transparency, control, and accountability they require."

Casepoint's Security Standing

Casepoint holds three major federal security certifications: FedRAMP High, Department of Defense Impact Level 5 (IL5), and Department of Defense Impact Level 6 (IL6). These certifications confirm that a platform meets strict federal standards for handling sensitive and classified government data.

For IL6, Casepoint is one of only six providers globally to hold this authorization. The other five are Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, and Palantir.

Bill McKinzie, Chairman of the Board at Casepoint, explained the reasoning behind the appointment. "As AI, security, compliance, investigations, and regulatory response increasingly converge, organizations need leaders who can connect technology innovation with operational execution," McKinzie said. "Paul's track record of scaling companies, building customer-focused cultures, and delivering transformation made him the clear choice to lead Casepoint into its next chapter."
