CLAonline Ties Up With ICAI to Make Legal Research More Affordable

CLAonline signs an official arrangement with ICAI to offer discounted legal research platforms and a free journal to all CA members in India.

Corporate Law Adviser's digital platform CLAonline entered into an official arrangement with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 2025 to give its members discounted access to two research platforms — CA/CS ProEdge and CLAonline — along with complimentary access to the e-CLA Journal for the full year 2026. The arrangement, facilitated through ICAI's Committee for Members in Practice (CMP), aims to reduce the cost of professional legal research for India's chartered accountant community.

This matters because India's chartered accountants regularly rely on corporate law research tools for compliance, advisory, and audit work. Until now, full access to CLAonline carried a market price of ₹13,500 per year — a cost this arrangement cuts by more than 41 percent for ICAI members.

The Pricing

ICAI members can now subscribe to CA/CS ProEdge at ₹3,750 per year, down from the standard market price of ₹6,500 — a reduction of 42 percent. CLAonline, the more comprehensive platform, drops from ₹13,500 to ₹7,900 per year for members. Both prices are exclusive of GST.

In addition, all chartered accountants receive complimentary access to the e-CLA Journal for the entire year 2026 at no cost. The journal ordinarily requires a paid subscription.

The Platforms

CA/CS ProEdge combines corporate law resources with income-tax commentary in a single interface. CLAonline includes all features of CA/CS ProEdge and adds an extensive case law repository covering judgments and orders dating back to 1950.

The platforms cover Company Law and allied corporate laws including SEBI, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, FEMA, and Competition Law. Users get access to case laws, legislations, notifications, articles, commentaries, procedures, resolutions, and expert queries, along with advanced search features.
