AI-powered legal platform Clearnote publicly launched after months in private beta, expanding from music to serve the broader entertainment industry.
Los Angeles-based Clearnote opened public access to its contract platform on February 6, 2026, after completing a successful private beta in late 2025. Founded by the team at independent label Good Boy Records, the platform uses AI to help entertainment professionals draft, revise, and manage legal agreements without traditional legal fees.
The platform addresses a specific operational gap: independent artists, managers, and small teams handle complex contract volumes but lack affordable legal tools to process them efficiently.
Platform Features
Clearnote combines AI-driven guidance with contract execution tools. Users can draft agreements, create templates, compare documents, and manage contracts end-to-end through the platform.
The system includes conditional clause toggling, collaborative editing, version control, and integrated e-signature workflows. These features target entertainment professionals who process high volumes of agreements without enterprise legal infrastructure.
On the music side, Clearnote generates contracts for producer agreements, artist-label deals, and collaborations. The platform now extends to film, television, and the creator economy after beta users adopted it beyond its original music industry focus.
Pricing Structure
Clearnote charges $29.99 per month at launch. This subscription provides three templates, 10 contracts, and 300 credits to use within the service. Custom plans are available for users with different requirements.
The pricing model targets independent contractors, managers, attorneys, talent teams, and small firms who have been priced out of higher-tier legal systems.
Beta Expansion
Good Boy Records initially developed Clearnote to solve an internal problem. Independent artists and managers at the label navigated complex deals without efficient legal support.
"Our goal with Clearnote was to support independent artists, musicians and music teams with better legal infrastructure to get deals done in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner," said Cameron Siasi, Founder of Clearnote and VP of Operations at Good Boy Records. "What surprised us was how quickly the solution spread to fill the needs of other industries, including everything from more general businesses to independent creators and influencers in entertainment."
During private beta, use cases extended beyond music. Legal professionals adopted the platform for various needs across different specialties, prompting the team to expand before public launch.
Target Users
Clearnote serves four primary user groups in entertainment. Musicians, filmmakers, and digital creators use it to protect their work and formalize collaborations. Managers and agents need efficient contract workflows for their clients.
Record labels and production companies process high volumes of agreements through the platform. Podcasters and digital publishers use it for sponsorships and guest appearances.
"Our target audience today is really anyone in entertainment that needs legal work done," said John Zamora, Co-Founder & COO of Good Boy Records. "We're for attorneys, we're for creators, and we're for companies. There are so many independent contractors who need accessible, easy-to-use tools to get the job done efficiently and affordably."
Market Position
Clearnote differentiates itself through accessibility and day-to-day usability rather than enterprise features. The platform was built for users who need functional tools without complex learning curves or expensive subscriptions.
The company positions itself as a legal infrastructure for how creative industries operate. As more professionals build careers outside traditional systems, the platform provides practical legal tools for independent contractors.
