Clio and BakerHostetler Integrate Vincent Into Firmwide Legal Intelligence Platform

Clio and BakerHostetler are embedding Clio’s Vincent legal research capabilities into the firm’s Practice Intelligence Center, extending AI-assisted research beyond a standalone product. The collaboration makes Matter Research+ an early application within BakerHostetler’s internally developed platform, which combines matter information, firm knowledge and AI-enabled workflows in a controlled environment.

The arrangement reflects a broader shift in legal technology: large firms are seeking systems that place research and intelligence inside the operational context of a matter. Instead of asking lawyers to move between a case-management system, a research database and internal repositories, firms increasingly want those sources connected at the point of work. For vendors, that changes the competitive test from the quality of an isolated AI feature to whether the product can fit a firm’s governance model, data architecture and attorney workflow.

BakerHostetler’s Practice Intelligence Center, or PIC, is the firm’s vehicle for that strategy. Its first highlighted capability, Matter Research+, combines the firm’s own matter intelligence with AI-supported legal research while protecting client information. The collaboration brings Vincent into PIC rather than treating it as a separate destination. BakerHostetler said PIC is part of a long-term investment in connecting information and supporting attorneys; the source disclosed no financial terms or implementation timetable. The firm’s stated objective is to give lawyers faster access to relevant information, firm resources and accumulated experience when handling complex client work.
