Courtroom Launches AI Tool to Simulate Juries

Courtroom announced its public launch and pre-seed funding, introducing an AI-based jury and judge simulation for litigation teams.

Litigation teams often prepare for trial without knowing how juries or judges will react to their arguments. Courtroom's platform aims to close that gap by letting firms test case strategies before they reach a courtroom.

The Funding

Neo and Precursor Ventures led the pre-seed round. Rel Labs, Relativity's investment arm, also participated, along with angel investors including Craig Glidden, Scott Mozarsky, and Doak Bishop. Members of OpenAI's technical staff, Baretz+Brunelle, and LexFusion's innovation portfolio joined as well.

How It Works

The platform runs private simulations of courtroom decision-makers using what the company describes as patent-pending technology with over 90% accuracy. Simulations draw on actual decision-maker data, litigation context, and case materials specific to each firm.

Teams can test arguments, damages theories, and case narratives at any stage of a matter. Courtroom says this gives litigators access to jury research that was previously available only in the most resource-intensive cases.

Co-founder and CEO Elizabeth Grabowski Parikh said, "Courtroom closes the gap between litigators' preparation and the decision-makers who will actually determine their clients' outcomes." Grabowski Parikh holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School and began her career at Kirkland & Ellis before leading strategy through a startup's hypergrowth and litigation.

Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Dan Gallipeau said, "We've seen firsthand that even the most experienced trial teams are to some degree forced to prepare in the dark. Courtroom gives litigators feedback from their jury and judge from the very beginning to the very end." Gallipeau brings 40 years and more than 1,000 cases of litigation experience, and co-founded Dispute Dynamics, Inc., a trial strategy practice that has advised on matters totaling tens of billions of dollars in liability.

Current Use

AmLaw 100 firms and Fortune 1000 corporations already use the platform. Their work spans products liability, patent infringement, mass torts, and multidistrict litigation matters.
