DISCO launched an agentic AI tool for its Cecilia Q&A platform, designed to analyze millions of documents in large-scale litigation matters.
DISCO, the Austin-based litigation technology company, announced Monday the industry's first scaled agentic AI tool for fact investigation and eDiscovery. The enhancement adds an autonomous, multi-step reasoning engine to its existing Cecilia Q&A tool. The new capability will be available later in 2026 at no additional cost to customers.
The tool addresses a gap in legal technology. Most agentic AI applications focus on narrow tasks like contract review or brief writing. DISCO's approach applies autonomous reasoning to enterprise-scale datasets. This means handling entire litigation matters with millions of documents and terabytes of data, rather than processing individual documents or discrete tasks.
Agentic Capabilities
The enhanced Cecilia Q&A uses autonomous, multi-step reasoning to analyze large data sets. The system can break down complex requests, reason through problems, and complete tasks without human intervention at each stage.
"While much of the industry is focused on narrow agentic AI applications for tasks like contract review or brief writing, DISCO is transforming the way legal work is done by applying agentic power at scale to the world's largest and most complex legal matters," said CEO Eric Friedrichsen. "Our agentic Q&A tool brings deeper analysis, recognizes next-level, highly nuanced connections and offers the potential to transform reviews from a tick-the-box exercise into a critical part of litigation case strategy."
The tool operates within DISCO's cloud-native platform. It maintains the company's existing security and privacy standards.
Platform Expansion
DISCO has rolled out several AI-powered tools over the past 18 months as part of its Cecilia AI platform. These include Cecilia Q&A, now enhanced with agentic capabilities, and Cecilia Auto Review, which enables automated document review at speeds of up to 32,000 documents per hour.
The company also launched Cecilia Definitions for text analysis. DISCO was named a G2 2025 award winner in the "Best Legal Software Products" category based on user reviews.
In October 2025, DISCO and Ari Kaplan Advisors released research showing 72% of legal professionals expect to adopt generative AI within 12 months. The study found 35% already use it. Security concerns remain the top barrier to adoption.
Financial Performance
DISCO reported total revenue of $40.9 million in Q3 2025, up 13% year-over-year. Software revenue reached $35.2 million, up 17%. Customer adoption of the Cecilia AI platform has grown by over 300% since September 30, 2024.
The company's stock has declined 23% year-over-year. Shares now trade around $4 per share.
"Building scaled and secure solutions capable of handling real-world use cases of millions of documents and many terabytes of data requires significant infrastructure and expertise – developed over years – that we're putting in the hands of our customers with our agentic solution," said Chief Product, Technology and Strategy Officer Richard Crum.
Leadership Changes
DISCO has undergone a strategic transformation under CEO Eric Friedrichsen, who took over leadership in April 2024. The company shifted focus toward what it describes as customer-centric development targeting high-value, complex litigation matters.
The company made several leadership moves over the past two years. Last year, DISCO lost its chief financial officer, Michael Lafair. He was replaced by Aaron Barfoot, the former chief financial officer of Socure.
Product Demonstration
DISCO will demonstrate the tool at its booth throughout Legalweek. The company will provide ongoing updates on its website. Interested customers can visit for product demonstrations.
The company also announced an expansion of its strategic eDiscovery and technology partnership with Mourant, a professional services firm focused on financial services clients.
