DraftWise Unveils AI-Powered Playbook Studio Tool

DraftWise launched Playbook Studio on February 25, 2026, an AI tool that builds custom legal playbooks from a firm's own contracts in minutes.

The launch addresses a long-standing problem in legal workflow: creating contract playbooks manually takes hundreds of hours and introduces errors. Playbook Studio automates this process, cutting the time to generate a deployable playbook to approximately five minutes.

The Core Problem

Legal teams spend significant time drafting and reviewing contracts from scratch. Without a structured playbook, teams risk inconsistency and lost institutional knowledge when staff changes occur.

Draftwise reports that NDA drafting and review time dropped from 60 minutes to two minutes for legal teams using an AI-generated playbook. The company also states the tool saves legal teams hundreds of hours each month by eliminating manual first-pass playbook creation.

How It Works

Users upload their existing contracts, templates, or past deal documents to Playbook Studio. The tool then analyzes that data and generates a set of tailored rules within approximately five minutes.

Legal teams can review and refine the generated rules before saving and deploying the playbook across their drafting workflow. The tool is designed to reflect the firm's own negotiated positions and preferences, not a generic legal standard.

Draftwise states that all uploaded data remains private during the process and is securely deleted once the trial period ends.

Playbook Studio is built to preserve what Draftwise calls "institutional memory," meaning the negotiating positions, preferences, and expertise that firms develop over years of deal-making.
