Harvey and The LegalTech Fund Join Forces on Startup Bets

Harvey and The LegalTech Fund have announced a partnership to co-invest in legal technology startups, alongside the launch of Phase 2 of the Pathways: Future of Law initiative, on March 11, 2026.

The two organizations aim to direct capital and operational support toward founders building across the legal technology ecosystem.

This partnership signals a broader shift in the legal technology sector, where established players are now actively funding the next generation of builders, not just competing with them.

The Investment Deal

Harvey and The LegalTech Fund (TLTF) will co-invest in a select group of legal technology startups. The partnership combines capital from both organizations with hands-on support from their respective teams and networks.

TLTF Managing Partner and Co-founder Zach Posner said, "We are fortunate to have a front-row seat to almost all of the companies coming up in legaltech and we're lucky enough to back many of them. Bringing Harvey alongside us in some of those investments says a lot about where this ecosystem is right now."

Harvey CEO Winston Weinberg added, "In joining forces with The LegalTech Fund, our goal is to invest in a small number of outstanding organizations and to support the legal technology industry's continued growth."

The partnership does not target a fixed number of investments. Both organizations have confirmed the focus will remain on quality over volume.

The Pathways Initiative

TLTF, Harvey, and Law .com announced Phase 2 of Pathways: The Future of Law, a multi-phase project that examines the trajectory of the legal industry through 2040. Phase 1 began at the TLTF Summit, where the community developed an initial 2040 vision for the sector.

The research from Phase 1 identified that the industry does not face a single, predictable path forward. Technology, regulation, capital flows, and shifting client expectations are converging in ways that create genuine uncertainty over the next 15 years.

Phase 2 will build a structured framework of future scenarios and critical decision points. These scenarios will cover legal, regulatory, business model, capital, and technical dimensions.

Who Is Involved

The Phase 2 cohort includes law firm leaders, innovation teams, academics, legal operations professionals, and general counsel. The group is designed to represent the full range of legal industry expertise, not a single segment or firm type.

Law.com, published by ALM, is contributing data and editorial resources to the initiative. Nick Brailey, CEO of ALM, stated, "Pathways is doing something the industry genuinely needs, moving from speculation about the future to a structured set of scenarios leaders can plan around. Law.com is uniquely positioned to support this work because we sit on deep performance data tracking the health of the business of law."

ALM will bring its analyst, strategist, and journalism teams to the project alongside its industry data assets.

What Comes Next

Representatives from TLTF, Harvey, and ALM will be present at Legalweek to discuss both initiatives and take live questions from attendees.

The Pathways framework, once complete, is intended to serve as a shared orientation tool for the broader legal industry, not just the organizations involved. The initiative has not announced a release date for its Phase 2 findings.

The investment partnership between Harvey and TLTF is ongoing. No total fund size or deal count has been disclosed.
