Harvey Launches Pro Bono AI Program With Four Law Firm Design Partners

Harvey has launched a pro bono legal AI program in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia, initially working with four law firm partners to expand access to legal services. The program will test how Harvey’s AI agents, templates and knowledge tools can increase the capacity of lawyers handling high-volume matters for vulnerable clients. It also marks a shift from selling legal technology to applying it within under-resourced parts of the justice system.

The initiative follows Harvey’s decision earlier this year to create a dedicated Responsible Business team covering environmental, social and governance work. The timing reflects a broader question facing enterprise legal technology vendors: whether systems built for commercial legal operations can produce measurable value in settings where demand exceeds professional capacity. Harvey’s program will begin with a limited pilot rather than a broad rollout, allowing the company and participating firms to assess workflow, quality and client impact before expanding.
