Icertis announced its partnership with genAI contract review startup Dioptra on July 28, 2025, marking the CLM company's third AI collaboration since 2024.
Why This Partnership Matters
The partnership addresses growing pressure on legal departments as more than 80 percent believe demand for legal services will continue to grow. With 85 percent of general counsels anticipating increased corporate risk, the collaboration aims to automate contract review processes while maintaining compliance standards.
Third AI Deal Strengthens Market Position
Icertis has rapidly expanded its AI capabilities through strategic partnerships. The company previously partnered with Evisort (now part of Workday) in 2024 and more recently connected with Harvey to leverage AI technologies. This pattern reflects the competitive CLM market where genAI-first companies seek market share while established players like ContractPodAi and Agiloft invest heavily in AI capabilities.
The partnership integrates Dioptra's redlining agent with Icertis's Contract Intelligence platform. Dioptra uses an agentic framework to distill custom playbooks, auto-generate redlines in Microsoft Word, and enable chat-assisted reviews.
Targeting Enterprise Workflow Integration
Dioptra's technology enables commercial teams to handle low-risk, playbook-compliant contracts autonomously while providing baseline support for complex agreement reviews. The AI agent delivers surgical redlining capabilities that consistently align with bespoke playbooks, expediting signatures on routine agreements while flagging potential liability in high-stakes deals.
"This partnership is an incredible opportunity to work with leaders in the space and get accelerated access to the enterprise," said Pierre Arnoux, co-founder and CEO at Dioptra. "It solidifies our strategy to natively embed our AI agent within our user's workflow and deliver value where they already are."
Icertis brings significant enterprise reach to the partnership, with more than one third of the Fortune 100 companies using its platform across 90 countries worldwide. This provides Dioptra access to coach-loads of Fortune 500 customers and additional revenue opportunities.
Multiple AI Partnerships Remain Active
Icertis maintains concurrent partnerships with multiple AI providers. Harvey's CEO Winston Weinberg confirmed his company continues working with Icertis, though Workday's current partnership status remains unconfirmed. This approach mirrors common CLM industry practices where companies partner with multiple organizations, including Big Four consulting firms and alternative legal service providers.
"Partnering with Dioptra strengthens the Icertis commitment to provide best-of-breed AI capabilities to customers," said Sudarshan Chitre, Senior Vice President of AI at Icertis. "Our end-to-end platform drives value across the full contract lifecycle, and this collaboration is an opportunity for the enterprises we support to further enhance their pre-signature operations."
Addressing Legal Department Resource Constraints
The partnership specifically targets legal teams shifting work from manual to meaningful tasks. Dioptra's existing clients include law firms Nelson Mullins and Wilson Sonsini, plus enterprise legal teams at companies like Collibra. The technology integrates into CLMs, CRMs, procurement systems, emails, and Slack to meet users in their existing workflows.
