Juro Launches Operator for Contract Intelligence

Juro has released Operator, an AI chat interface that lets teams query contracts in natural language, on April 15, 2026.

Operator addresses a common pain point for in-house legal teams: the time lost filtering through documents to find specific contract details. With direct, secure access to a company's contracts, Operator returns answers with citation links, making contract intelligence available to the entire business, not just legal teams.

What Is Operator

Operator is a chat interface built into Juro's intelligent contracting platform. Users can type questions such as "Which contracts worth more than $100k are set to autorenew?" or "What termination rights do we have with Microsoft?" and receive answers directly in the chat window with citation links pointing to the source document.

Unlike general-purpose AI tools, Operator connects directly to a company's own contract repository. This means users do not need to upload or copy documents manually. The answers are grounded in the company's actual contract data.

Operator entered open beta following a closed beta with a select group of customers. Early feedback has been positive, with one associate general counsel based in the United States stating: "Being able to surface insights like this makes life so, so much easier for the business. I can't wait to use it more."

Fits Into Juro's Platform

Operator is not a standalone product. It joins a suite of existing AI tools within Juro that cover drafting contracts, extracting data, and reviewing and redlining documents. This means in-house legal teams can now manage contracts from start to finish in one platform, with AI support at each stage.

This integration is significant because it removes the need to switch between tools. A team member can draft a contract, extract key data, review it, and then query it later, all within the same system.

The Market Context

Juro's own research, published in its "State of In-house 2026" report, highlights a clear shift in how legal teams are approaching their workloads. In-house legal teams are increasingly turning to AI rather than external law firms or additional headcount to get work done.

When survey respondents were asked how much of the work currently sent to law firms could be handled internally using AI, 68% said more than 10% could be insourced. A further 20% said more than 25% of that work could be brought in-house with AI support. These figures point to a growing appetite for tools that reduce external legal spend and increase internal capability.

Juro CEO and co-founder Richard Mabey described the product's intent clearly: "We want to give legal teams AI that doesn't just accelerate their work, it does it for them. With Operator, anyone can ask complex questions about contracts, just like they would to a lawyer, and get comprehensive, accurate answers quickly."

What This Means for Teams

Operator is designed to reduce the burden on legal teams by giving non-legal staff direct access to contract information. Rather than routing every question through a lawyer or paralegal, a sales manager or finance team member can query the system themselves and get a cited answer in seconds.

This matters in organizations where legal teams are small and contract volume is high. Delays in finding contract information can slow down renewals, negotiations, and compliance checks. Operator aims to cut that delay by making the information accessible across the business.

The citation links included in each answer also serve a practical purpose. Users can verify the source of any answer by clicking through to the relevant contract clause, which supports accuracy and reduces the risk of acting on incomplete information.

Juro positions Operator as an in-house contract intelligence layer. The product is now available in open beta, meaning any Juro customer can access and test it.
