Legance Rolls Out Legora AI Across All Practice Areas

Legance, a leading Italian law firm with 400-plus professionals, has deployed the Legora AI platform firm-wide across all practice areas in June 2026.

This marks the first full firm-wide AI deployment of its kind in the Italian legal market, both in scope and speed. For a market still cautious about AI adoption, the scale and methodology of this rollout set a practical benchmark for other European firms.

The Deployment

The implementation covered every professional at Legance across offices in Milan, Rome, and London. The rollout was completed in three months and involved Legance's full IT team, a dedicated Legora team, and senior representatives from every practice area.

The project also had outside support. Irnerius, a consultancy specialising in AI within the legal sector and founded by Andrea Arosio, provided strategic and operational guidance throughout the implementation.

What Legora Does

Legora is an agentic AI platform, meaning it can carry out multi-step legal tasks with some degree of autonomy rather than simply responding to single queries. It supports lawyers in research, document review, and drafting on complex matters.

The platform currently serves more than 100,000 users at 1,200 law firms and in-house legal teams across more than 50 markets. Legance's adoption adds a notable name to that network, given its standing as a full-service firm covering corporate, finance, dispute resolution, regulatory, and advisory work.

Why It Matters

The decision was not made quickly. Monica Colombera, Legance Senior Partner and Head of Innovation and Strategic Committee, described the process: "The decision to adopt Legora firm-wide has been taken after an in-depth analysis carried out with the support of our chief information officer Roberto Cantuccio, the involvement of our Innovation and Strategic Committee and a large number of colleagues."

The firm's stated goal goes beyond productivity gains. Colombera added: "We do not see AI merely as a tool to perform existing tasks faster. Rather, we see it as an enabler of a new generation of legal services, allowing us to deliver increasingly sophisticated, tailored and strategic advice to our clients."

This framing separates the Legance deployment from simpler efficiency-focused AI rollouts. The firm is positioning Legora as infrastructure that changes the nature of the services it can offer, not just the speed at which existing services are delivered.

The three-month timeline for a deployment covering all practice areas and seniority levels at a 400-plus professional firm is notably fast. Many comparable firms run extended pilot programmes limited to select teams before committing to broader rollouts.
