Legora Hits $100M ARR in Legal AI

Legora, a legal AI platform, crossed $100 million in annual recurring revenue just 18 months after its general launch, now serving over 1,000 customers across 50 markets.

This milestone signals a broader shift in how law firms and corporate legal teams are adopting AI, moving from single-task tools toward systems that manage complex, multi-step legal workflows.

Rapid Growth

Legora launched its platform for general availability in October 2024. Within 18 months, the company scaled from a few early adopters to more than 1,000 law firms and enterprise legal teams.

Going from $1 million to $100 million in ARR in 18 months places Legora among a small group of software companies to reach that threshold at such speed in the post-generative AI era within enterprise sales.

The company now employs more than 400 people across nine global offices.

How It Started

The idea behind Legora came from a direct observation. A friend working as a junior associate had spent an entire summer manually summarising court cases, a task that felt misaligned with what modern software could already do.

After joining Y Combinator, the Silicon Valley accelerator that also backed Airbnb and Stripe, Legora partnered with Mannheimer Swartling, one of the largest law firms in the Nordics. The team embedded within the firm for several months to study how legal work is actually done and refined the product based on that direct feedback.

That approach shaped the foundation of what Legora built.

Customer Adoption

Legora's customer base now spans major global law firms and corporate legal departments. Clients include White & Case, HSFK, Linklaters, and Barclays.

Early adoption focused on discrete tasks such as research or document review. Today, legal teams use the platform to run agentic workflows, which refers to AI systems that handle sequences of tasks with minimal human input, such as reviewing large volumes of documents and generating structured reports.

The platform is currently active across 50 markets worldwide.

What Comes Next

Legora recently closed its Series D funding round. The company plans to use the capital to expand its presence in the United States and other key global markets, while continuing to invest in product development and infrastructure.

CEO and Co-founder Max Junestrand described the growth as driven by the customers themselves: "This is a reflection of how quickly our customers are pushing the industry forward. They're redefining how legal work gets done, and AI is becoming the core infrastructure for the profession."

Junestrand also pointed to where the industry is heading: "We're still early in this transformation. Foundation models are improving quickly, but the real value is in how they're applied. Legal work is moving from tools to systems, where AI doesn't just assist, but helps deliver outcomes. The legal teams that embed AI effectively today will shape how the industry evolves."

The company has not disclosed the size of the Series D round.
