Legora Opens Offices in Singapore and Tokyo

Legora, an AI platform serving over 1,200 law firms and legal teams across 50-plus markets, opened new offices in Singapore and Tokyo, completing its Asia-Pacific expansion alongside its existing Sydney base.

The move signals a direct response to growing demand from legal clients operating across APAC, a region whose combined legal services fee pool rivals that of the European Union.

Asia-Pacific is not a secondary market for legal technology. It is a primary one. Japan holds one of the world's largest legal services revenues, and Singapore functions as the regional base for most Magic Circle and leading US law firms operating in the region. Legora now has a physical presence across all three major legal hubs in APAC.

The Singapore Office

Singapore is home to SIAC, one of the world's top international arbitration centers. It is also an English-language common law jurisdiction, which makes it a natural base for global law firms managing cross-border work across the region.

The new Singapore office will serve international firms headquartered there as well as in-house legal teams that manage APAC legal operations from the city. Several firms already using Legora are based or have regional offices in Singapore.

"Singapore and Tokyo were deliberate choices," said Heather Paterson, VP Revenue APAC at Legora. "APAC's combined legal services fee pool rivals that of the EU, and the cross-border deal and disputes work that flows between this region and EMEA and the US runs through corridors Legora already covers. For the first time, we can say we're truly global in the way our clients are."

The Tokyo Office

Japan is one of the world's largest legal services markets by revenue. Legora already counts customers in Japan before this office opened.

The Tokyo office positions the company within a deal market that connects directly to the US corridor Legora already serves. It will support both international firms advising on outbound Japanese transactions and domestic firms handling inbound deal work.

"The conditions in Asia-Pacific right now, record M&A volumes in Japan, Singapore's position as the arbitration and deal hub of the region, a legal services market that rivals the EU in scale, make this the right moment to commit fully," said Max Junestrand, CEO and Co-Founder of Legora. "We see a significant opportunity, and we intend to lead in it."

Regional Presence and Clients

Legora first entered the Asia-Pacific market in 2025 with the opening of its Sydney office. Since then, it has built a client base that includes MinterEllison, Allens, Hamilton Locke, HWL Ebsworth, HSF Kramer, White and Case, K&L Gates, Dentons, and Baker McKenzie.

The company recently acquired Graceview, an Australian legal technology company, strengthening its regional foothold. Its Series D investor base also reflects its APAC focus, with Atlassian, Geodesic, and Airtree all participating in that round.

The Singapore and Tokyo expansions follow demand from existing customers with APAC operations, as well as from firms for whom the region is a primary or growing focus.
