LinkSquares has released a connector in Anthropic's Claude directory that lets legal and business teams search contracts, create agreements and move legal requests forward without leaving Claude. The connector is available now at no extra cost to customers on the LinkSquares Agentic Platform who also use Claude Team or Enterprise.

CLM vendors follow work into AI assistants

Contract lifecycle management platforms have spent years trying to pull business users into their own interfaces, with mixed success. More of that work now begins in AI conversations. LinkSquares, which says it serves more than 1,200 customers including DraftKings, ProPharma and TIME, is meeting users there instead, using the Model Context Protocol to connect Claude to its platform.

The release lands as Anthropic expands Claude for Legal with dozens of legal connectors, and as rival CLM and legal AI vendors race to secure a place in the same directory.

For LinkSquares, the timing matters. The company has been repositioning around agentic workflows, recently adding a Workflow Builder Agent and Workflow Blueprints, and a Claude connector extends that agent strategy to where many business users already ask questions.

Four capabilities, inside existing permissions

Through the connector, users can search the LinkSquares repository and pull contract information into a conversation, create new agreements from approved templates, complete intake forms and advance contract requests, and carry out each action under the permissions, approval steps, workflows and audit controls already set in LinkSquares. That last point is the core of the pitch to legal departments: the AI conversation becomes a starting point, but the CLM remains the governed system of record.

Andrew Leverone, LinkSquares' chief product officer, said teams need a way to carry work that starts in AI conversations through to an agreement, and that the connector lets Legal extend support without adding another process to manage.

The CLM interface matters less than its data

If business users can create and find contracts from inside Claude, the competitive edge in CLM shifts from interface design toward template quality, data structure and governance controls. Vendors without a connector risk becoming back-end storage that users never see. For enterprise legal buyers, including the connector at no extra cost lowers the barrier to piloting conversational contracting with existing licenses.

The licensing requirement cuts both ways, however. Only organizations paying for both LinkSquares' agentic tier and a Claude business plan can use it, which ties adoption to two vendor relationships.

DreamLegal Perspective

CLM vendors should treat AI assistant connectors as table stakes and compete on what their data and controls make possible inside them. Legal operations teams already on LinkSquares and Claude should run a short pilot with one business team, confirm that permissions and approvals behave as expected when actions start in Claude, and track whether self-service agreement creation reduces routine requests to Legal.
