Litera Adds GenAI Features to Kira Contract Review Tool

Litera has launched generative AI features for Kira, its contract review platform, available to all customers starting July 31 without requiring setup. The enhancement addresses time-consuming document review processes that slow legal teams. Kira already serves over 2 million daily users and holds Tier 1 ranking in contract review functionality for two consecutive years.

New AI Capabilities 

The updated Kira platform introduces four key generative AI features powered by Litera AI+. Users can now create custom smart fields in any language using simple prompts, eliminating coding requirements and training cycles.

The system expands beyond Kira's existing 1,400 built-in smart fields. Legal teams can extract answers from any document type across multiple languages and jurisdictions.

A new grid-based workflow provides tabular layouts for instant risk and trend overviews. The interface displays extracted language and answers while enabling document interaction through chat functionality.

Search and Compliance Features Enhanced

Concept Search uses predictive AI built on large language models. Legal teams can identify any legal concept across project documents using just one example.

The new search architecture delivers results up to 10 times faster, even in projects containing tens of thousands of documents. This improvement supports advanced GenAI features in Kira's updated interface.

Project-level GenAI governance allows teams to enable or disable Litera AI+ features for specific projects. This flexibility helps legal teams comply with outside counsel guidelines regarding generative AI usage.

Integration with Broader Legal AI Ecosystem

Litera also unveiled Lito, an AI legal agent integrated into Litera One, on July 23. Lito works alongside Kira, adapting to different use cases, user scales, and document complexities.

Kira's Rapid Clause Analysis identifies and organizes clauses across documents. The feature integrates with Kira Smart Summaries, enabling teams to generate client memo-ready summaries directly from organized clauses.
