LOD and Wordsmith Join Forces for In-House Legal Teams

Lawyers On Demand (LOD), a Consilio company, has partnered with AI platform Wordsmith to offer AI-enabled managed legal services to in-house legal teams globally, addressing rising work volumes without increasing headcount.

In-house legal teams today face a growing gap between workload and capacity. This partnership directly targets that gap by pairing experienced legal professionals with an AI workflow platform, offering teams a way to scale operations without adding staff or sacrificing oversight.

The Partnership

LOD brings expert legal professionals, governance structures, and day-to-day management of legal work. Wordsmith contributes its AI-native workflow platform. Together, the two companies offer a managed service that embeds AI within existing team workflows rather than requiring teams to build new processes around a standalone tool.

Consilio, LOD's parent company, provides technology advisory, implementation support, and ongoing refinement as part of the offering. Client feedback from live deployments will also feed directly into Wordsmith's platform development.

Pilot Results

Before the full launch, LOD and Wordsmith ran a three-month pilot across multiple in-house legal teams and workflow types. The pilot produced measurable improvements in efficiency, turnaround times, and contract-handling capacity.

The pilot covered several legal workflow categories and confirmed that combining experienced legal professionals with AI-enabled delivery allowed teams to scale support while maintaining oversight, consistency, and quality.

What the Service Offers

The service is designed for in-house legal departments that want to use AI in practice but struggle to implement it. Many teams find that AI tools sit apart from their existing workflows or do not fit their risk tolerance. This offering addresses that by building AI delivery into a managed service model.
