Overrule launches agentic AI platform for Indian Supreme Court advocates

Overrule has publicly launched an agentic legal operating system built exclusively for advocates practicing before the Supreme Court of India, claiming to compress legal drafting from three days to roughly 30 minutes and legal research from five hours to about 15 minutes. The platform enters an Indian legal market that has remained heavily manual despite rapid AI adoption in adjacent professional services such as finance and consulting.

The release underscores a wider shift across legal technology from horizontal AI assistants toward vertical, workflow-specific agentic systems. Indian Supreme Court practice combines dense procedural requirements, multilingual filings, and reliance on primary authorities such as Supreme Court Reports (SCR) citations, a combination general-purpose models have struggled to handle reliably. The Supreme Court's own draft regulations on AI use in judicial processes have stressed human oversight and warned against fabricated citations, a concern repeatedly raised by lawyers experimenting with consumer AI tools.
