Patlytics Raises $40M to Expand AI Patent Platform

Patlytics, a New York-based patent workflow platform, raised $40 million in a Series B round on April 8, 2026, led by SignalFire, to expand its AI-powered patent lifecycle software into new markets and industries.

The rise signals growing investor confidence in AI tools built for specialized legal workflows. Patent work has long relied on disconnected software and manual handoffs, driving up costs and slowing turnaround times for IP attorneys.

The Funding Round

The Series B round included participation from N47, Myriad Venture Partners, Relativity, Alumni Ventures, Antiportfolio Ventures, and BAM Corner Point. The new capital brings Patlytics' total funding to approximately $65 million, following a $14 million Series A led by N47 in 2025.

Relativity, an e-discovery company, invested through its investment arm Rel Labs. Patlytics CEO Paul Lee said the relationship grew through connections in the legal tech space and will include product-level integration between the two platforms.

"Andrew heard of us through just being in the legal tech space and thought it'd be a really cool ecosystem play for what we do," Lee said. "[The investment] also came [with] deep integrations with Relativity."

The Problem It Solves

IP attorneys have faced rising docket volumes without added headcount. Work that requires tight turnaround times has grown more technically complex, and each manual handoff between disconnected tools compounds the inefficiency.

Patlytics addresses this by offering an end-to-end platform covering the full patent lifecycle, from drafting and research to prosecution and litigation support. The platform replaces the fragmented toolset that most patent teams have relied on.

Claim charts that previously cost more than $30,000 in attorney time can now be completed at a fraction of that cost, according to the company. Firms using the platform report up to a 90% reduction in project time.

Who Uses It

Patlytics currently serves 40% of the AmLaw 100, a ranking of the largest law firms in the United States by revenue. Clients include Quinn Emanuel, Latham and Watkins, Foley and Lardner, and Susman Godfrey.

The platform is also used by corporate IP teams at Rivian, Google, Panasonic, Sanofi, and Canon. Lee said demand has been strong across multiple sectors, including automotive, technology, and life sciences.

"Our customer demand has been life science-focused in general recently, from startups all the way to IPO companies," Lee said. "In automotive, we serve the Fords, the Rivians, the GMs and more."

What Comes Next

Patlytics plans to use the new funding to expand into the Asia-Pacific region, with a focus on Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. The company will also deepen its capabilities in the chemistry and biology domain to better serve life sciences clients.

Upcoming product developments include a shared workspace for collaboration between law firms and corporate clients, autonomous agents for drafting and research workflows, and continued expansion into the EMEA region.

The Series B comes during a period of notable activity in the patent technology sector. Earlier in April 2026, London-based Solve Intelligence acquired Munich-based patent litigation startup Palito.ai. In March 2026, DeepIP raised $25 million in a Series B led by Korelya Capital and Serena Capital.
