ProPlaintiff Adds $50 Client App as Personal Injury Firms Push Case Communication Into Mobile
Share article

ProPlaintiff.ai launched a mobile client app on Aug. 27, 2026, giving personal injury firms a new channel for reminders, document collection and round-the-clock conversations with its AI assistant. The iOS and Android product is available to existing ProPlaintiff customers at a $50 fee for each client activation. It is designed to move routine client interactions into the firm’s case-management workflow rather than leave them scattered across calls, email and separate file exchanges.
The launch expands ProPlaintiff beyond an internal productivity tool and into the client-facing layer of personal injury practice. The Phoenix-based company describes its broader platform as an AI-native system for case management, document review, medical chronologies, demand-letter generation and media analysis. Its new app targets a practical bottleneck in that workflow: firms need current treatment information, bills, medical records and images, while clients often provide those materials between formal appointments or only after repeated requests. The move also follows ProPlaintiff’s July announcement of a strategic investment from Christopher Stark, co-founder of Freestar, although the company did not disclose the investment amount.
Clients using the app can receive appointment notifications, send medical documents and bills, upload photographs, report treatment developments and communicate with Tiff, ProPlaintiff’s AI legal assistant. Those interactions are associated with the relevant case in the company’s platform, allowing lawyers and staff to work from a more continuously updated record. The $50 activation charge creates a per-client pricing model rather than a purely seat-based expansion, tying the product’s commercial cost to the volume of matters a firm handles. The company did not disclose adoption targets, security certifications, data-retention terms or the limits placed on Tiff’s responses.
Industry Implications
The product reflects a broader shift in legal technology from tools used solely by attorneys and staff toward systems that involve clients directly. In personal injury work, where case progress depends heavily on medical developments and supporting records, client participation can determine the quality and timeliness of the file. A mobile interface may reduce administrative follow-up, but it also places greater pressure on vendors to control permissions, preserve an accurate audit trail and distinguish administrative assistance from legal advice. For enterprise legal buyers and legal operations teams, the relevant test will be whether these applications improve matter data without creating another system to monitor. Competitors in case management, intake and legal AI may face pressure to add comparable client portals, automated messaging and document workflows. The commercial question is whether firms will view a per-activation fee as justified by reduced staff effort and better case visibility.
DreamLegal Perspective
Legal technology buyers should evaluate client-facing AI on workflow evidence, not the presence of a chat function alone. Firms considering ProPlaintiff or similar products should examine how client submissions are authenticated, routed, reviewed and retained, and where responsibility sits when an AI assistant answers a case-related question. Vendors, meanwhile, will need to show that mobile engagement produces cleaner matter records and fewer manual interventions while maintaining appropriate safeguards. ProPlaintiff’s launch is an early signal that the next battleground in personal injury software may be the quality of the client-to-case data connection.
