Relativity, Wickard.ai Launch Law School AI Push

Relativity and Wickard.ai have partnered to bring hands-on legal AI training to U.S. law schools at no cost.

Relativity, a legal data intelligence company, and Wickard.ai, a legal AI education firm, announced their partnership on April 14, 2026, in Chicago. The two organizations will combine Relativity's Academic program with Wickard.ai's curriculum to give law students practical experience with AI tools used in modern legal practice.

This partnership matters because law schools have lacked structured, hands-on AI training even as AI tools become standard in legal work. The collaboration addresses that gap directly by delivering ready-to-use programs to institutions across the United States.

The Core Deal

The partnership will allow participating law schools to access Relativity's AI platform, RelativityOne, at no cost. Students will receive hands-on training through a combined curriculum developed by both organizations.

Wickard.ai's course content covers four areas: the use of AI in legal practice, how to verify AI outputs, ethical considerations and professional responsibility, and AI regulation. Law schools can implement these programs without building them from scratch.

Phil Saunders, CEO of Relativity, described the urgency behind the initiative. "AI isn't coming for the legal industry; it's already here, and it's fundamentally changing how law is practiced and how legal data challenges are tackled," he said. "Bringing together two organizations that are serious about expanding access to legal AI education to drive meaningful outcomes is exactly what this moment calls for."

Oliver Roberts, Founder and CEO of Wickard.ai, emphasized the value of practical learning. "Legal AI literacy is quickly becoming a core competency for future lawyers," Roberts said. Past Reach

Relativity's Academic program launched in 2014 and has since reached over 115 academic institutions around the world. The program has operated for more than ten years with a focus on preparing law students for technology-driven legal careers.

Wickard.ai has also built a record in legal AI education over the past year. The company led the nation's first required AI course for law students at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. It also delivered AI programs at WashU Law, Southwestern Law School, the University of Washington School of Law, and the University of Mississippi School of Law.

Relativity and Wickard.ai will host a joint webinar on April 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. CDT. Washington University in St. Louis will also participate in the session, which will focus on how AI can be integrated into legal education.
