SpotDraft Secures $8M for On-Device Legal AI

SpotDraft raised $8 million from Qualcomm Ventures to advance on-device AI technology that processes contracts locally without cloud dependency.

The AI-powered contract lifecycle management platform announced the strategic Series B extension on January 27, 2026, following its $56 million Series B round in February 2025. The investment addresses growing enterprise demand for legal AI that protects sensitive data by running directly on Snapdragon processors instead of external cloud servers.

Legal teams handle confidential business information that most AI tools currently require sending to cloud-based models. SpotDraft's on-device approach eliminates this privacy risk by processing contracts entirely on local machines while maintaining full AI functionality for contract review, risk assessment, and editing.

On-Device Technology

SpotDraft showcased its capabilities at Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon Summit 2025. The company demonstrated fully on-device contract review running on Snapdragon X Elite laptops without internet connectivity.

VerifAI, SpotDraft's AI-powered contract review tool, executes core functions locally on Snapdragon processors. The system performs embeddings, clause extraction, risk scoring, and edit application completely offline. The application only requires internet connectivity for sharing documents, login authentication, and license verification.

Hybrid Architecture

SpotDraft separates processing between local devices and cloud infrastructure based on functionality requirements. Core contract understanding, guideline checks, and recommendations run on-device. Orchestration, learning systems, and large-scale analytics remain cloud-based.

The company optimizes workflows for the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU to deliver low-latency AI experiences. This architecture maintains accuracy while keeping sensitive contract data on local machines.

SpotDraft has raised $92 million total from investors including Qualcomm Ventures, Vertex Growth Singapore, Trident Growth Partners, Xeed VC, Arkam Ventures, and Prosus Ventures.

The company reports 100% year-over-year growth in customer acquisitions and 173% year-over-year increase in contract volumes. The platform supports nearly 50,000 monthly active users processing over 1 million contracts annually. Customers include Apollo.io, Panasonic, Zeplin, and Whatfix.

Investment Strategy

The funding will expand SpotDraft's product development and AI capabilities. The company plans geographic expansion across the Americas, EMEA, and India.

Qualcomm Ventures backs companies advancing on-device AI for enterprise applications. The firm's portfolio includes foundational AI companies Anthropic and Cerebras, plus enterprise applications in industrial robotics, fleet safety, and security operations.
