Crimson Raises $2.5M Seed to Scale AI Litigation Tool

Crimson, a Y Combinator-backed AI platform for litigation and arbitration teams, raised an oversubscribed $2.5 million seed round and opened a New York office on May 28, 2026.

The London-based startup addresses a specific gap in legal AI: most available tools function as general-purpose assistants, not systems built around the structure of complex commercial disputes. Litigation teams working across cross-border proceedings, large evidence sets, and compressed timelines need purpose-built tools, not generic chatbots.

The Funding

The round includes Y Combinator alongside Symphony Ventures, Twenty Two Ventures, Amino Capital, Eight Capital, Scale Asia Ventures, and Progressive Ventures. Partners and arbitrators at leading international law firms also participated.

Crimson reported over 30% month-over-month revenue growth in 2026. The platform is currently being used on disputes valued at more than $40 billion in total.

What Crimson Does

Crimson connects to the full case file, including pleadings, witness evidence, expert reports, correspondence, and procedural materials. It allows legal teams to generate detailed chronologies, compare party positions, track deadlines, manage correspondence, and draft documents with references to the underlying record.

The platform extracts key people, entities, events, legal arguments, factual propositions, deadlines, and procedural steps as materials are added to a matter.

U.S. Expansion

The New York office will be led by Rhick Bose, a former trial and appellate litigator who practiced at Patterson Belknap Webb and Tyler and WilmerHale.

Crimson currently works with law firms and in-house counsel across the U.S., UK, Middle East, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Its clients include Magic Circle and Am Law 10 firms, international arbitration practices, and litigation boutiques.

Crimson is also part of Fuse, the legal tech accelerator run by A&O Shearman, and has worked with the firm's disputes teams since joining the programme.

Security and Integrations

The platform integrates with iManage, NetDocuments, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Outlook. It holds SOC 2 Type II attestation and operates within the security requirements of international law firms.
