Taxmann and EY Launch AI Tool for Tax Professionals

Taxmann and EY India launched Taxmann.AI on July 18, 2025, delivering instant tax and legal research responses to Indian professionals. Tax professionals currently waste hours conducting manual research through legal documents, case law, and regulatory circulars. Taxmann.AI solves this productivity drain by providing verified responses in seconds from India's largest tax and legal database. 

How the Platform Works

Taxmann.AI processes natural language queries and returns structured responses with direct links to relevant sections, rules, circulars, case law, and expert commentaries. The platform draws from Taxmann's authenticated legal content spanning over six decades, differentiating it from generic chatbots that lack verified legal sources.

EY India built the platform specifically for India's unique tax landscape. The system researches complex topics, extracts insights from legal documents, identifies similar legal precedents through pattern recognition, and integrates with Microsoft Word.

Next Phase: Draft Bot

The current launch phase features an intelligent "Ask Bot" that eliminates hours of manual research by delivering authoritative guidance in seconds. Taxmann.AI will expand with a "Draft Bot" designed to validate legal notices from tax authorities, identify potential issues, and generate comprehensive draft responses supported by statutory provisions and relevant case law.

EY India's Tax Technology practice currently supports over 3,300 corporates, processing transactions worth more than $600 billion annually. This infrastructure provides the operational foundation for Taxmann.AI's deployment across India's professional services market.
