Lucio Secures $5M Funding to Scale AI Legal Platform

Lucio, a legal tech startup, has raised $5 million led by DeVC, with participation from investors Ashish Kacholia and Lashit Sanghvi.

The India-based company announced the funding round in October 2025. Lucio develops an AI-native workspace that consolidates legal tasks including document drafting, review, research, translation, and compliance tracking. The startup plans to use the capital to enhance product features, expand market presence, and strengthen its AI capabilities.

Legal professionals traditionally juggle multiple software tools to complete their work. Lucio addresses this inefficiency by providing a unified platform where lawyers can manage all major tasks without switching between applications. The funding validates growing demand for integrated AI solutions in the legal sector.

Current Adoption

Lucio serves over 3,000 lawyers across 200 organizations in nine jurisdictions. The platform's clients include enterprise law firms, in-house legal teams, and boutique practices. Users report saving an average of 30 hours per lawyer each month through the platform's automation capabilities.

"Most legal tech doesn't fail in demos, it fails at desks," said Vasu Aggarwal, co-founder of Lucio. "We are building Lucio to disappear into legal workflows, to meet lawyers where they already are, elevate the quality of their output, and make them fall in love with the law again."

Expansion Plans

The $5 million will fund two primary initiatives. First, Lucio will embed legal AI into additional interfaces where lawyers work. Second, the company will deepen personalization capabilities to provide jurisdiction-specific experiences with reduced friction.

Lucio plans to integrate with more legal databases and strengthen its AI models. The company is also preparing to expand into new geographic markets beyond its current nine jurisdictions.

Investor Perspective

"With deep legal expertise and strong technical foundations, the team is reshaping how lawyers practice and deliver value," said Ashish Kacholia, one of the individual investors. "We're proud to help take their vision to lawyers across jurisdictions."

Co-founder Darsan Guruvayurappan emphasized the broader vision beyond efficiency gains. "Legal AI isn't just about efficiency, it's about reimagining the experience for clients, attorneys, and all other stakeholders in the practice of law," he said.

Future Funding

Lucio is preparing for its next funding round to scale both product development and market expansion. The company reports accelerating adoption rates and strong market demand for its platform.
